FFA Leadership Activities |
|
Here at Pioneer Valley, there are countless ways to get involved. We offer a year-long leadership class, designed for students who share a common vision towards the growth and development of the agriculture/FFA program. Students will be encompassed in a variety of leadership, management, and employability, public speaking, and community service skills. “Hands-on” learning utilizing computers, technology, and advanced communications will be addressed. One of the primary objectives of the class is to organize, prepare, and implement the AHS Agriculture Program / FFA Program of Activities.
Judging and CDE TeamsCareer opportunities abound within today’s agriculture industry. Career Development Events (CDEs) help students develop the abilities to think critically, communicate clearly, and perform effectively in a competitive job market.
There are 24 CDEs, 12 of which are offered here at Pioneer Valley, covering job skills in everything from communications to mechanics. Some events allow students to compete as individuals, while others allow them to compete in teams. |

SAE Projects
A Supervised Agricultural Experience
program or project is a learn by doing process. Through it, vocational agriculture students reinforce learning by applying skills and knowledge acquired in class and shop by means of an ownership and/or non-ownership project through FFA activities. Some examples of an S.A.E.'s are livestock and crop production and outside welding or construction projects. Vo-Agriculture students may benefit in a variety of ways while participating the S.A.E. An S.A.E. project is supervised by an FFA advisor. The Advisor is there for guidance and knowledge and is not responsible for the project. The student has full responsibility in the upkeep of the project. There are endless numbers of projects that you can do. It’s up to you to find the right one for yourself. |
